Senior Consultant

Warwick Stacey is a Senior Consultant to Steve Vickers and Associates Limited’s (“SVA”) Special Risk and Response Group. He is a specialist crisis and risk management consultant, with a focus on kidnap for ransom and extortion (K&R/E) response.

As a senior K&R/E response consultant he advises clients on how to manage successfully incidents of kidnap for ransom, extortion, maritime piracy, product extortion and contamination, and related life-threatening crises. He has also planned and implemented ransom delivery to Somali pirates, and emergency evacuation from countries facing political instability, natural disasters, civil war, or war.

He has worked with major international crisis response groups throughout the world for more than 25 years as a crisis response consultant, as case manager overseeing the advice to clients of other crisis response consultants, as a trainer of response consultants, and as a trainer of client crisis management teams.

As a risk management consultant he identified threats to personnel and business operations in high-risk environments around the world, assessed the level of risk of each threat, and then devised and implemented mitigating and protective measures.

Prior to engaging in crisis and risk management he served as an officer in the British Army. He was commissioned into the Parachute Regiment and later served with 22 Special Air Service Regiment (SAS). On retirement from the British Army he worked as a contract officer on military projects in the Middle East and the Indian sub-continent.

Warwick Stacey has a Master of Arts (MA) degree in European Literature from King's College, University of London, a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance & Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia and a professional qualification as a Simultaneous Interpreter & Translator in German.

As well as German, he speaks French and Spanish, and conversational Japanese.
