Hong Kong Tycoon Arrests Put Graft Agency in Spotlight

Chief Executive Officer of Steve Vickers and Associates and former head of Royal Hong Kong Police Criminal Intelligence Bureau, Steve Vickers, saying: "This is Hong Kong's second largest property developer and property developers are really, really important in Hong Kong, arrested, but not charged, along with the former chief secretary of Hong Kong, the second-highest official in town. So by anybody in the world's standards, it's a significant case."

"During the course of the Chief Executive's election, which is really really recently, like, last weekend concluded -- many of the issues arising were people, or many groups, making noises about the government's cosy association with property developers. So whether it's true or not in this case, nobody knows, and as I said, nobody's been charged to date. But this obviously fit well in with that agenda."
